Naresh drives a taxi, often venturing far from the village in search of passengers, sometimes even leaving home for days at a time to earn money. Meanwhile, Shailaja toils as a farm worker, facing the challenges of inconsistent income, barely scraping by with just over $3 per day.
Despite the hardships they face, a glimmer of hope shines through when the Rice Love organization steps in to lend a helping hand. With a generous gift of 20 kilograms of fine rice for each family, they provide not just sustenance for a month, but also a sense of relief and optimism.
