K Anu’s Story: Courage Beyond Her Years

In the small village of Devannapet, nestled in Hanumakonda district, lives Anu—a Class 2 student with a gentle smile and a quiet strength that speaks louder than words. At just 7 years old, Anu has experienced a loss that no child should face.
Four months ago, her father, Chandramouli, who worked as a mini-van driver, tragically passed away in a road accident. His sudden loss left the family in deep emotional and financial pain. He was the sole breadwinner, and with his passing, everything changed overnight.
Now, Anu’s mother, Vanitha, carries the weight of the family on her shoulders. She works as a daily farm laborer, taking up any work she can find to provide for her three children—Anu, her elder brother Koshin, and elder sister Rakshitha. Each day is uncertain. The income is irregular, and the work is hard. But Vanitha continues on, drawing strength from her love for her children and her hope for a better future.
In the midst of this hardship, Rice Love brought a small but meaningful relief: 25 kilos of rice.
For Anu’s family, this was more than just food. It meant they could eat without worry for the next 25 days. It gave Vanitha the chance to save around $19, which might go toward school needs, clothing, or basic essentials. In a time of grief and struggle, this rice brought comfort, care, and a message—they are not alone.
