World Mental Health Day

Today, October 10th, is World Mental Health Day. A day to bring awareness to the importance of mental health and the value of human life. This year, the World Health Organization is focusing on suicide prevention.

Suicide affects people of all nationalities, from all different cultures, and of all genders. Every 40 seconds, someone dies of suicide - a preventable death.

What can we do?

Today, take just 40 seconds to help raise awareness and/or help someone or yourself.

  • Reach out to a loved one - you never know who may be struggling.
  • Post on social media - share an uplifting message, the numbers to the Suicide Prevention hotline or text line, or share the World Health Organization's "40-seconds of action" initiative.
  • If you are struggling, give yourself a moment of self care, or a moment to talk to someone who cares about you.

National Suicide Prevention Hotline: 1-800-273-8255

Crisis Text Line: 741741 (USA), 686868 (Canada), 85258 (UK)

Much love,
