Rakshitha’s Story: A Little Light Shining Through Hard Work and Dreams
In the peaceful village of Devannapet, nestled in Hasanparthy Mandal of Hanumakonda district, lives a sweet and lively little girl named Ponnam Rakshitha. Just 4 years old, Rakshitha's laughter fills her modest home with joy, even as her family works hard to build a better future for her.
Rakshitha’s father, Ranjith Kumar, works as a toddy tapper, a traditional and physically demanding occupation. Every morning, he bravely climbs tall palm trees to collect toddy—a dangerous and tiring task that he does to earn a living for his family. Rakshitha’s mother, Mamatha, lovingly manages the home and takes care of her young daughter.
Their lives are not easy. The work is seasonal and the earnings are often low, barely enough to cover daily needs. Yet, their hearts are full of hope and determination. Their biggest dream is to see Rakshitha educated, standing strong and independent in a future much brighter than the one they have known.
When Rice Love visited Rakshitha’s family and provided a bag of rice, it was a blessing they deeply appreciated.
"This rice is a great help to us," shared Ranjith Kumar with emotion. "It will feed our family for many days and let us save a little for Rakshitha’s education. Thank you for remembering people like us."
