Abhiram’s Story: A Shepherd’s Son with Big Dreams from Devannapet
In the scenic village of Devannapet, located in Hasanparthy Mandal of Hanumakonda district, lives a spirited 3rd standard student named Mali Abhiram. Abhiram studies in the same village primary school that’s shaping the minds and futures of many bright young children. He’s known for his curiosity in class and the enthusiasm he brings to every lesson.
Abhiram is the son of Mali Najesh and Anusha, both of whom work as shepherd laborers—a life that demands long, tiring hours under the sun as they tend to livestock and move from place to place in search of pastures. Despite the challenges of their work, Najesh and Anusha have ensured that their children, including Abhiram’s elder sister, Mali Meenakshi, are raised with love, discipline, and hope for a better tomorrow.
The life of a shepherd family in rural Telangana isn’t easy. Income is modest and uncertain, especially during off-seasons. Yet, families like Abhiram’s hold onto their dreams and values tightly. For them, education is a doorway to a brighter future, and they’re doing all they can to keep it open for their children.
When Rice Love reached their doorstep with a bag of rice, it was met with smiles and heartfelt gratitude. For a family living hand to mouth, even a small help makes a huge impact. The rice provided them with meals for days—and more importantly, it gave them some relief from daily worries.
