Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the entire country of India has been under strict lockdown for 30 days. During this time, the Rice Love giving team was unable to go out and deliver the rice to families in need as usual, but we still wanted to find a way to continue to help the people who need it most during this trying time.
We teamed up with the local police to pass out more than just rice to 147 struggling families. Each family received 10 kilos of rice, 5 kilos of flour, 2 kilos of beans, 2 liters of cooking oil, 2 kilos of onions, and 2 kilos of potatoes. This is enough to feed a family of four for two weeks, enabling them to stay at home and stay safe.
