    About This Style

This clutch is made from Chindi fabric. 'Chindi' is a word that India's tailors use to describe waste fabric. Textile waste is upcylced and woven into a multi-colored, vibrant fabric.

    • Your Impact: Every bag provides 2.2 lb (1kg) of rice to a family in need, helping feed a family of four for a day. We donate in bulk – 25 bags = 25 kg, feeding families for about a month!
    • Eco-Friendly & Recycled: Made from upcycled jute/burlap rice bags, biodegradable, and sustainable. Keeps waste out of landfills and gives materials new life.
    • Fair Trade: Ethically made with fair wages, safe working conditions, and no child labor. Your purchase supports quality jobs and responsible manufacturing.

All orders are shipped from the USA. The cost of import fees and/or duties are NOT included in the cost of shipping. If you live outside the USA, you may be required to pay a duty before you can pick up your package. It is important to know your countries rates for duties as you will be responsible for this added cost. If you do not pay the duty, the package will be returned to us. In this case, we will contact you to ask if you would like to pay to have the package re-shipped to you or if you would like a refund on the cost of the product (excluding shipping). Most European countries have import fees, however, they are generally less than the cost of the product(s), and the fees are not charged consistently on every package. Customers have not reported any duties for Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.

How does rice giving impact a family?

Happy you asked! From a Western perspective, it can be very difficult to imagine just how important rice is to Asia and the Pacific Islands. Westerners can easily get by without eating rice. But, in Asia, this is not the case. In India, rice is eaten three times per day. For low income families, rice is the primary source of daily calories. These families are not bombarded by packaged foods and fast food, like in the developed world. In Asia, rice is life. The amount of rice we provide lifts a tremendous burden from families who are strained in many ways beyond financial. Most families dream of sending their children to private school in India, which is the beginning of the path out of poverty. Many families use the money they save to pay an admittance fee for one of their children to get into school, which provides hope for the future.

    How the rice giving works

    • ONE FOR ONE

For every bag we make, we give 2.2 lb (1kg) of rice. That means, we find the families in need and hand-deliver the rice.

    • ENTER YOUR NUMBER

We print tag numbers which represent the kilo of rice that you gave, tie the hang tags to the bags, and ship the product to USA

    • SEE YOUR FAMILY

You enter the tag number online and get to see the family you helped! You just played an important role in helping to end global hunger, and look good doing it!

I was surprised at the heavy duty , high quality material and craftsmanship. I love the separate compartments and little pockets. It is nicely lined, has a secure closure, and fits nicely in my hand.

My second Rice Love purchase -- oh my god, it is absolutely STUNNING <3 The photos definitely do not do the bag justice.. The slight flaws are my favorite thing about it and gives it a unique flair you can't find at fast fashion retailers. I've always loved Chindi rugs (though I never knew that's what they're called, which I find so fascinating), and I'm just thrilled to now own a Chindi clutch!!
